Access Officer

The Disability Act, 2005 places a duty on public organisations to ensure that their public buildings and services are, as far as is practicable, accessible to people with disabilities.

Role of the Access Officer

The role of the Access Officer is to help An Post customers and employees with disabilities to access An Post services and information more easily.  This includes:

  • Ensuring compliance with the Disability Act, 2005, and addressing barriers to access for customers and An Post staff
  • Promoting accessibility best practice in communications, customer service, information technologies, buildings and procurement
  • Liaison on disability matters with customers, employees, An Post business areas, statutory bodies and disability representative groups

Enquiries and requests

All enquiries and requests seeking the input of the Access Officer should be sent to access.officer@anpost.ie

If you think we have failed to comply with sections 26 to 28 (inclusive) of the Disability Act and wish to make a formal complaint please send your complaint in writing to;

It will then be forwarded to the appropriate An Post Business Unit for investigation and reply.

If you are unhappy with the result of our investigation, you may request to have the matter referred to at a higher level in An Post for review.  If following this review you remain unhappy with our reply, you may refer your complaint, including our responces, to the Ombudsman for consideration.
