Magnet Networks

"This was an interesting way for us to track the actions of the consumers upon receipt of the card – we noticed activity on the site in the morning when the postman delivered the card and then again in the evening when workers arrived home", says Kevin O'Brien, Marketing Manager.

Magnet is home to Irelands Fastest Broadband Speeds and when they wanted to let the residents of the town of Ennis, Co Clare know that they could avail of recent line upgrades and broadband speeds of up to 70Mb they felt that would be an ideal, low cost option for them to get the message into over 10,000 households in their selected target area.

The company, who have been rated by Netflix as the fastest internet service provider in Ireland in 2013, used the card as an opportunity to highlight a discount off customers first bill and sent customers to a dedicated website which they used to track the response of the card.

This is a terrific campaign as the owner rallied his team behind his meat counter, took the photo on his iPhone and uploaded it to He wanted to test one side of the street first, so did that. He made his money back and more, and signed up his new customers to his loyalty programme. Happy with that result, he then ran the same campaign to the other side of the street. His customers are coming in saying they think the postcard is great and they have stuck it on their fridge – he was laughing saying he is telling them to bring it in to get their discount, he said the card was really well received. He is seeing response rates of 3-4% and an average spend of €20, he thinks it is great.
