According to the latest Amárach Consulting research, 55% of businesses have used direct mail in the last 6 months and 25% plan to increase their spend over the next 12 months.

Direct Mail is a persuasive and powerful tool in the marketing mix with Direct Mail users positive about the outcomes of receiving mailings.

  • 33% of consumers say it can trigger them to purchase products  or services
  • Nearly 50% of consumers trust Direct Mail more than advertising online and emails
  • Over 70% of consumers consider addressed DM relevant to them, whilst over 50% of consumers think that 80%+ of the Advertising emails they receive are irrelevant to them (TNS)

An Post’s Head of Direct Mail, Amie Peters said “When we look at who is using Direct Mail most effectively, it is larger, innovative Irish companies, while mid-sized companies tend to spend more on print and telesales. However, consumers score both of these channels lower than addressed direct mail for making them feel like valued customers. With 66% of mid-sized companies stating that increasing customer loyalty is a top priority for the next 12 months it is time they know the facts.”
