Delivering leaflets is a time-consuming activity. You may have considered using delivery companies for leaflet distribution jobs, but An Post really know how to deliver. Our Publicity Post mailing services offer exciting opportunities for businesses wanting to exploit direct mail marketing.
Leafleting is a popular direct advertising method, but to be effective, it has to be focused. From as little as 7c ex VAT per item, Publicity Post allows you to target households and businesses in a specific area, making it the most cost-effective way to market your business.
This direct mail marketing method is ideal for the distribution of leaflets, flyers, brochures, newsletters, magazines, product samples and promotional material to homes and businesses throughout Ireland.
Rather than using a separate leaflet distributor, you can take advantage of the An Post regular door drop. What’s more, your direct mail leaflet or flyer is likely to be read at a time when potential customers are more receptive to your message because it is delivered by the postperson at the same time as the regular mail. An Post also operate a low-clutter service, with no more than five items to be delivered in any week.

The Special Urban rates above are available for leaflet mailings of more than 25,000 items in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford City areas only.
A labelling fee of €5 will be added to the cost of your leaflet mailing. A nationwide mailing will avail of Urban rates across the entire campaign.

Step-by-step
To avail of our Publicity Post direct marketing service:
1. Download the Publicity Post booking form.
2. Decide what areas you want to target for your flyer distribution:
3: Check that your direct marketing leaflet falls within the following dimensions:
- Minimum Size: 100mm x 70mm
- Maximum Size: A5 (240mm x 162mm)
- Maximum Thickness: 10mm
You can fold larger items for direct mail purposes as long as they’re delivered to An Post within these sizes.
4: Return your completed Publicity Post booking form, signed terms and conditions, and a sample of your direct marketing leaflet to An Post and we’ll take over from there.
Packing instructions
All leafleting items must be secured in bundles of 100’s. For items weighing 10g or less, bundles must be packed into boxes of 1,000, not exceeding 10kg per box. We will provide instructions for heavier items and for large/nationwide direct mailings.
All boxes of Publicity Post leaflets must be labelled with details of your direct mail requirements. Please contact us for further details. An Post cannot accept items that do not have these labels clearly displayed on the outer side of the boxes.
Full payment must accompany the direct mail order.

Terms and Conditions
An Post’s Publicity Post Service (hereinafter referred to as the ‘Service’) is regulated by S.I. No. 202 of 1939 as amended by S.I. No. 89 of 1986 (as amended). In addition to the provisions therein the following terms and conditions shall apply to the Service:
- The Publicity Post direct mail service is available to customers at the rates specified by An Post. These rates are available from An Post and are subject to change without notice.
- Items for direct mailing through the Service must comply with An Post’s leaflet distribution packing instructions which are available from An Post.
- Use of the direct mail service is subject to full payment at nominated office on delivery.
- For mailings over 250,000 items, a 50 per cent deposit is required at time of booking. This fee is non-refundable in the event that the order is cancelled less than six weeks before it is due to be delivered.
- An Post reserves the right to review all material to be sent through the Service and to refuse the Service to any material at its absolute discretion.
- The Service is provided to all addresses in the selected zones unless the occupant(s) at the address inform(s) An Post that unaddressed direct mail should not be delivered to that address by displaying a declaration to that effect on/beside his/her/their letterbox.
- The direct mail service is not available for the two weeks immediately preceding General, Presidential, European, or Bye-Elections (in the areas concerned) or during the month of December. At An Post’s discretion, the Service may also be restricted during local elections, referenda or at other times when the volume of mail necessitates.
- An Post retains the right to restrict or discontinue the direct mail service at its absolute discretion, subject to the return of any monies paid or deliveries not completed due to such restriction or cancellation.
- Publicity Post does not provide a guaranteed delivery to every household for unaddressed items. The service ensures delivery of the total amount of direct mail items specified for each zone (the zone amount). We update the zone amounts once per year and in most cases we round down the zone amount to the nearest 100. Therefore the zone amount may be marginally smaller than the number of households in that zone.
