Dublin 6 Mail Deliveries

17/11/2016

No mail deliveries today in Dublin 6 Postal District (serving mainly Rathmines, Rathgar, Ranelagh and parts of Terenure)

An Post greatly regrets to inform customers that due to local unofficial industrial action by postal delivery staff based at Rathmines Delivery Unit, there will be no mail deliveries in the Dublin 6 area today (Thursday 17th November, 2016).   As a result of the staff refusing to carry out their normal work, it is not possible to provide a mail collection service for Dublin 6 customers at the delivery unit.

An Post urges the staff involved to cease this disruption to customers by returning to normal working and allowing any issues to be dealt with through the established industrial relations procedures for handling workplace grievances.   The Company is working with the Communications Workers Union to achieve a return to normal working by the staff involved.

At this time, An Post must advise customers not to post in postboxes within the Dublin 6 area as the unofficial action may impact mail collections today in Dublin 6 (only).

Post Office services are not affected and all Post Offices are open for business as usual.
Postal services are operating normally in all areas except Dublin 6.
