Notice to customers sending packets via Russia Post


Russia Post has requested An Post to recommend that customers sending packets to the Russian Federation do so as registered items. This is intended to expedite customs clearance of inbound packets. Also to ensure the safety of contents and to enable their tracking, tracing and delivery.

400th Anniversary of the Plantation of Ulster


An Post, the Irish Post Office, has today (Friday) issued a stamp to mark the 400th Anniversary of the Plantation of Ulster.  The 55c stamp, issued in Irish and English language versions, features a cartouche or decorated frame which was a feature of maps at the time of the Ulster Plantation.

Trinity College Exhibition Highlights Contribution of Migrant Networks' Leaders


‘Leaders', a photographic exhibition which showcases the contribution made by migrant networks in Ireland, opened today, Thursday 28 May at the Buttery Cafe in Trinity College Dublin. The exhibition documents the work and achievements of eighteen individuals and organisations in rights advocacy, gender issues, culture, the media, and religion and highlights how these migrant networks facilitate social, cultural, and political integration in Ireland. The exhibition, which is open to the public until 25 June, is organised by the Trinity Immigration Initiative Migrant Networks Project and supported by An Post.

ComReg Monitor Shows Postal Quality Improvement 


ComReg’s postal quality of service monitor recorded an 80 per cent next-day delivery rate for the April to June period, a two per cent increase on the first quarter, and up three per cent on the overall 2007 figure.
