13 November 2018: An Post, with the help of Ryan Tubridy, today revealed the new 2018 Christmas Stamp collection featuring Ireland’s favourite festive traditions. Featuring in the stamp series for the very first time are Christmas favourites including watching The Late Late Toy Show, Eating traditional Christmas Dinner and attending Midnight Mass, all of which were voted for by the people of Ireland.

Agreement confirmed on the Acquisition of Gift Voucher Shop (GVS)


DUBLIN, Ireland – Nov. 9, 2018 – Blackhawk Network, a global financial technology company, today confirmed that it has entered into an agreement, subject to regulatory approvals, to acquire the An Post subsidiary, Gift Voucher Shop (GVS), the company behind the One4all umbrella brand and the market leading multi-store gift card in Ireland, and the UK.  The agreement places an enterprise value on GVS in the region of €100m.  

New stamps mark Centenary of Armistice Day


Dublin, November 8th, 2018: An Post has issued two stamps to commemorate the centenary of Armistice Day, the official end of World War I (WWI) in which it is estimated that more than 50,000 Irish soldiers died.

Stamp set celebrates electoral breakthrough

Minute of silence to mark Leinster centenary


Dublin, Wednesday 10th October: An Post staff nationwide will observe a minute’s silence at 9.50 am this morning (Wednesday), in memory of their postal colleagues who lost their lives aboard the RMS Leinster 100 years ago on 10th October, 1918.

Minister launches ‘Digital Assist’ pilot project


October 1st 2018: “Digital Assist is a Government funded service offering unique access for people to Government websites and information in ten post offices across the country,” stated Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment Denis Naughten as he unveiled the first kiosk unit as part of the new ‘Digital Assist’ initiative today.

#READERSWANTED celebrates the value of reading


Today An Post unveils #ReadersWanted, a national campaign which celebrates the value and joy of reading and encourages everyone to pick up more books, more often. The campaign is in support of An Post’s sponsorship of the Irish Book Awards and runs across a breadth of channels including 48-sheet and 6-sheet outdoor sites, bus shelters, online, video and social media.

An Post to eliminate carbon emissions within a decade


Sunday 16 September, 2018: An Post is pledging to eliminate carbon emissions from all its letter and parcels operations within a decade. In phase one of ‘An Post Eco Plan’, a new fleet of electric post vans and delivery tricycles will deliver zero carbon emissions in Dublin’s City Centre, between the Grand Canal on the city’s south side and the Royal canal on north side by the end of next year.

Post Insurance to sell FBD Car Insurance


14th September, 2018: Post Insurance, the An Post subsidiary will sell FBD car insurance policies through its online, phone and post office channels. The announcement marks the latest addition to the Post Insurance suite of car, home, life, travel and pet insurance products and comes at a time of strong growth in the motor policy books and profitability of both businesses.

Stamps celebrate Ireland as Powerhouse of Scientific Discovery


An Post today (Wednesday, 5th September) unveiled four €1 stamps titled Irish Scientific Discoveries at the international Schrodinger at 75 Conference organised by researchers of Trinity College Dublin and held in the National Concert Hall.  The series of stamps highlight recent scientific discoveries made by scientists who work in pioneering research and development in Ireland.

An Post network of 960 Post offices to benefit from investment and consolidation


28 August, 2018: An Post has published the location of 159 Post Offices where the serving Postmaster has opted to retire under the historic agreement concluded between An Post and the Irish Postmasters’ Union (IPU),  and the neighbouring offices to where business will transfer, boosting their transaction levels and viability.

RDS Stamps are Best in Show


An Post today (Monday 6th August) launched a series of four €1 stamps to mark the wide variety of activities which take place in the Royal Dublin Society (RDS), contributing to life in Ireland for almost three centuries. An Post confirms 161 postmaster applications for voluntary retirement


2 August, 2018: An Post confirms today that as part of its Post Office Transformation Programme and €50m investment in the Post Office network, 161 postmasters have applied for the Company’s voluntary retirement package, resulting from the recent ground-breaking agreement with the Irish Postmasters’ Union (IPU).

Thursday May 31st: An Post’s latest stamp celebrates the life of St. Kevin of Glendalough with the launch of a €1 stamp marking the 1,400th anniversary of the death of St. Kevin. The stamp was unveiled in Glendalough Visitor Centre, Co. Wicklow at the same time as the installation of “St. Kevin and the Blackbird” an artwork by Imogen Stuart & Tim O’Neill.

INTO has the ‘write stuff’ Championing Education


22 March 2018:  An Post today issued a new €1.00 stamp celebrating the 150th anniversary of Ireland’s largest teachers’ trade unions, the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation (INTO).  Founded in 1868 the INTO represents over 43,000 school teachers across the country.  Designed by Dublin design studio Detail, the stamp depicts the words ‘Celebrating the 150th Anniversary of the founding of the Irish National Teachers’ Organisation’ as if handwritten by a child.

‘Post now’ to send a real taste of Ireland this St. Patrick’s Day


March 8th, 2018: To make sure your loved ones get a taste of home in time for St. Patrick’s Day (March 17th) An Post advises customers to get parcels into the post by this Saturday 10th March - to be sure of delivery to Europe, the USA and around the world.  For the UK, best post by Tuesday 13th next.  All Post Offices are open on Saturday (and every Saturday) until 1pm to offer posting advice and send care packages on their way to loved ones everywhere.
