An Post Yeats Tour of Sligo 2015

Bressie

Last year an incredible 2,500 participants took to the roads of Sligo for the An Post Tour of Sligo, including the family fun day and the main events and 2015 promises to be even better!

This year be part of the ‘YEATS 2015’ celebrations and get on your bike on Sunday May 3, in scenic Sligo, Yeats spiritual home, and enjoy the scenery that inspired much of his work. The cycling tour will afford the people of Sligo and visitors to the county, the chance to enjoy stunning scenery ranging from majestic mountains to spectacular sea views; picturesque country scenery and rural villages from the saddle of a bike.

As part of the overall event, there are five different routes of varying degrees of difficulty. Thus the tour will accommodate a wide range of cycling interests, including family cycling, the leisure cyclist and of course, seasoned/experienced cyclists.

As in previous years we are holding the 10K Hazelwood Spin for All on Saturday May 2, for those of 9yrs and over, and due to its success of the last two years, the 2km Bike Trail for those aged 6-8 years will be happening again. These will be part of the Family Fun Day which will include a BMX display, cycling acrobatics, Dr. Bike, a cycle skills challenge, music, fun activities and more. Once again for 2015 we have the 60km Lough Gill Circuit, the 100km Innisfree Tour, and the 160km Ox Mountain Challenge.

As in previous years the numbers on the main events will be capped at 2,000 cyclists, so make sure you enter early and avoid the disappointment!
