Spotlight on Bundoran

Bundoran has been established as a holiday destination for over 300 years and we have a proud history of welcoming visitors to our shores. The fashions and trends have changed in cycles over the centuries but the bracing air and outdoor activities have always been a mainstay of Bundoran's appeal.

Our location, at the southern tip of Donegal and on the cusp of counties Sligo, Leitrim and Fermanagh, means you are spoiled for choice across four counties: Fantastic scenery, walks, golf, angling, horse riding, history, culture and entertainment are all available in and around Bundoran with accommodation to suit every pocket. There are numerous cycling routes in the area including the Kingfisher Trail, routes from the Benwiskin Centre in the Dartry mountains and three loop routes from Grange in Co. Sligo.

Last year Bundoran welcomed surfers from all over Europe participating in the European Surfing Championships 2011. The inaugural Cara Bundoran 10 Mile Challenge 2011 saw runners and walkers compete on our roads and round Rougey Cliff Walk.

It is with great pride that we welcome the An Post Rás to Bundoran as a stage finish. We hope you enjoy the Atlantic air and scenery and that you can take time to refresh yourselves in Bundoran as you continue your journey.

We welcome you to Bundoran as your home, however briefly, and beyond. May your tyres never be flat.  For more about Bundoran's amenities and history see www.discoverbundoran.com or email info@discoverbundoran.com
