Centenary of the first public meeting of Dail Eireann
On January 17, An Post released will issue two new stamps to mark the centenary of the first public meeting of Dáil Éireann.
Historic first Dáil meeting remembered
For those interested in Irish politics, as well as in parliamentary democracy and history, our two stamps commemorating the centenary of the first public meeting of Dáil Éireann held on January 21, 1919 are a ‘must buy’.
To be issued on January 17, the stamps mark this historic occasion at the Mansion House in Dublin. One features a painting of the members of that first Dáil while the second is based on a graphic of the current Dáil electronic voting system.
