Christmas 2018

Christmas 2018

On November 1, 2018 An Post issued two Christmas Stamp Booklets to commemorate Christmas 2018.

Today sees the launch of our 2018 Christmas Stamp Booklet, designed by Detail Design Studio, this year’s offer comes in the form of two booklets, €5 and €19. The novel thing about this year’s booklets is that they include 50c stamps which is ideal for sending your cards internationally. The €1 stamp allows you to post Christmas cards (weighing up to 100g) within Ireland. Postage to Great Britain, Europe and the Rest of the World is €1.50.

To make up international postage use a €1 stamp and a 50c stamp on your Christmas cards. To make up postage in Ireland you must use either a €1 stamp or 2 x 50c stamps on your Christmas cards.

This year’s stamps depict special moments and experiences that are synonymous with the festive season and family celebrations. These include: Christmas dinner; watching the Late Late Toy Show; meeting family and friends at airport arrivals; waiting for Santa; attending Midnight Mass; visiting the local crib and the Star of Bethlehem.

In addition to our ever-popular set of Christmas stamps that will be available in two booklet formats, we have collaborated with the U.S. company, The Elf on the Shelf®, to produce a special Christmas mailing pack collectible that will excite the younger generation.

The unique mailing pack we have developed will complement the current Elf on the Shelf® range, making it an ideal Christmas gift that will appeal to younger audience, in particular. It will feature a limited edition Elf on the Shelf® stamp. The collectible will consist of six postcards and six national stamps, retailing at €9.95.
