Enquiry form for missing, damaged or delayed items FAQs

An Post processes up to 3 million items daily, while the majority of these are delivered next working day there are occasions when items are delayed.

This online facility is designed to help you give us all the information we need to fully investigate your enquiry. For example the Address Finder is built using a list of all Townlands and Towns in the Republic of Ireland.

Why must I use the Address Finder instead of typing my address?

Postal Districts and boundaries are separate to other geographical boundaries such as county boundaries. Address Finder allows us to correctly identify the Delivery Services Unit for your address.


Why can only the sender complete the form?

An Post is legally contracted by the sender and can only carry out an investigation on behalf of the sender. If you have received an item that was delayed, damaged or indeed is overdue for delivery we would advise you contact the sender and ask them to contact us either online www.anpost.ie/m58 or CallSave 1850 57 58 59.
