How does it work?
An annual self-assessed Local Property Tax (LPT) charged on the market value of all residential properties in the State. This charge is administered by the Revenue Commissioners.
To pay your property tax, all you need to do is drop into your local Post Office where you can pay it over the counter using the letter you received from Revenue Commissioners or by quoting your Personal Public Service Number (PPSN).
Step by step
The Office of the Revenue Commissioners are writing to all residential property owners enclosing a detailed guide to Local Property Tax.
All you need to do to make a payment is to bring this letter to your local Post Office and pay over the counter. Alternatively, you can pay by quoting your PPSN.
You can pay your property tax in full or by part payment at your local Post Office. A TaxPay service fee of €1 per transaction applies to all property tax payments. The Office of the Revenue Commissioners will provide you with information on calculating your Local Property Tax liability.
Please retain your TaxPay receipt as proof of payment.
