Passport Express service alert

An Post regrets to inform customers that due to ongoing industrial action in the Passport Service, it is no longer possible to provide any guarantee regarding the turnaround time for the Passport Express service.

An Post will continue to accept transactions for this service.

PLEASE NOTE - When renewing a passport, a photocopy of the personal detail pages of the old passport should be included with the documentation.  The necessity to submit the original passport, that has some remaining period of validity, has been temporarily withdrawn by the Passport Office.

Customers are advised to check the expiry date of their passport straightaway.   Applications for new or renewed passports ought to be made before making any travel plans and in sufficient time to allow for longer processing times. 
Customers should retain the transaction number on their Passport Express application and use this number to check the status of their application on the Passport Service website, (new window)
