An Post Cycle Series Tour de Burren

An Post Cycle Series proves a success

The second of five cycles in the An Post Cycle Series took place in Clare on Saturday 20th June.

The Tour De Burren consisted of three cycles, the 10km Aillwee Cave Family Loop, the 60km Corkscrew Challenge and the 160km Burnin Burren spin. The event was attended by cyclists from all over Ireland and the general consensus was that it was an excellent event with superb organisation.

Judging from the reactions of the people who took part, the Tour De Burren is sure to grow into a much bigger event next year.

Registration was very fast and smooth, especially considering there were 800 riders.

Marshalls were well placed with 70 junctions being marshalled. The excellent road markings also added to make sure this event was such a memorable experience. The food stops were fantastic with the cheesecakes still being praised.
