An Post has been made aware of the existence of an email, from an as yet unidentified third party, resembling a genuine UPS or DHL message advising recipients that a parcel addressed to them could not be delivered and is available for collection at their local post office.
The email advises the recipient to open an attachment reportedly containing a way bill for the shipment to be collected.
The attachment contains a virus and should not be opened. The email should be deleted immediately.
