What’s On Offer At Your Post Office

As well as using your Post Office to send your mail, just like thousands of people and businesses do every day, there are lots of other things you can do there too: Open a savings account, change money into Pounds Sterling and U.S Dollars, apply for your passport, top up your phone or even get movies by mail! Read on to discover all that you can do at your Post Office.

Sizing Up Your Mail

At your Post Office, there are four different ways to package your mail. It just depends on what you want to send. Whether it’s a letter to your Granny in Carlow or a birthday present to your cousin in New York, make sure you choose a size that fits!

The Small Envelope is used to send letters, bills and thank you cards.

The Large Envelope is used to send magazines and brochures. You could probably fit a pair of socks in here too!

The Packet is bigger than the large envelope and is used to send things like DVDs or books.

The Parcel is used to send things that are too big to fit into anything else, like a new laptop or maybe even some runners!

Renew Your Passport, Top Up Your Phone And Rent A DVD!

There’s nothing worse than planning your holidays and then realising your passport is out of date. Panic stations!  But all you have to do is pop down to your local Post Office and they’ll sort it out - within ten days too. Just fill out the application form they give you and you will receive an ID number. This number lets you track your application online whenever you want. It’s as simple and as quick as that!

Topping up your phone on any network is easy to do at your Post Office, it takes just two minutes. So next time you go to buy a stamp or post a letter, top up your phone too and make sure you never run out of credit!

Who knew your Post Office could be your ticket to the movies? Movies by Mail lets you rent the movies you want, whenever you want them, wherever you live. All you have to do is sign up online and you can get all the latest releases delivered right to your door. All that’s left to decide is which DVD to choose!
