The An Post Sean Kelly team returned to action after the FBD Ras at the one day Gullegem race in Belgium on June 2nd. Steven Van Vooren was the best An Post team, crossing the line in seventh place. The only other team member to finish was Matt Brammeier in 24th, with the rest of the An Post team still feeling the effects of a gruelling 8 days at the FBD Ras.

Today’s penultimate stage from Castlebar to Clara proved to be another positive day for the An Post team, with great work from Paidi O’Brien and Benny De Schrooder keeping their teammates Eeckhout and O’Loughlin in contention for a podium finish tomorrow.

It was a good day for An Post cyclist David O'Loughlin in today’s Fourth Stage of the FBD Rás, as he took maximum points on most of the day's climbs and ended the stage in the pink jersey of best climber, while his teammate Niko Eeckhout came home for the second successive day in fifth place.

The An Post Sean Kelly Team is back on home soil ahead of next week’s FBD Insurance Rás, which gets underway in Kilcullen, Co. Wicklow on Sunday 17th May. Four of the five members of the Belgian based team have been confirmed, including two Irish riders, David O’Loughlin and Paidi O’Brien, but last year’s Rás champion Stephen Gallagher, will not be back to defend his title due to personal reasons.

The route has been announced for the 57th edition of the Rás, running from May 17th until May 24th this year. Some of cycling’s most exciting young riders will clash with experienced stage race competitors in a tough, tactically-demanding route unveiled by the organisers for the UCI 2.2-ranked event. It will be a serious test to endurance with three of those stages being longer than 175 kilometres.

The Sean Kelly team’s newest Irish member, David O'Loughlin, won a bronze medal for Ireland on the first day of the Beijing World Cup on Friday evening.O'Loughlin - who is balancing his track role with Ireland and his new position with the Sean Kelly team - stayed ahead throughout the medal race to secure the win by the narrowest of margins finishing less then two tenths of a second ahead of his Ukrainian rival, with both almost equal with 125metres remaining. The 30-year-old Mayo-man performed well and rode solidly in the morning qualifiers to finish third in a time of 4.27.56 and earn the chance to ride-off for the bronze in the evening finals.
