Welcome to the 2016 edition of Ireland’s top stage race for women, An Post Rás na mBan.
Download the An Post Rás na mBan 2016 Guide.
Since this race began ten years ago as a two-day event in Dublin it really has gone from strength to strength and all the signs are that this year’s event is set to be the best yet. Riders from 14 countries on 24 different teams are set to battle it out for race glory from September 7-11, 2016.
The race takes place in County Kilkenny for the first time following five wonderful years in Kerry with the amazing support of Louis Moriarty and all at Sneem and three great years in County Clare where the terrain is as beautiful as it is challenging.
This year the race will take in 400km of tough racing on Kilkenny roads, from the Nore and Barrow Valley to the summit Mount Leinster and featuring a number of stages in Kilkenny City.
Saturday 10th September, Kilkenny City Centre Criterium
This will be a race highlight and one to watch! It will be a great spot to meet friends and soak up the magical atmosphere of this high octane ‘criterium’ circuit race under the shadow of Kilkenny Castle in the heart of Ireland’s most beautiful medieval city.
From 3pm on Saturday afternoon come along to Kilkenny’s Parade Plaza (adjacent to where race starts and finishes) and enjoy some great family entertainment and fun, with music, street food, balloon art, face-painting and lots more.
